ANSWER TO PUZZLE 2

loaves One would take one piastre, the other would take seven.
Eight loaves divided by three people. Each one eats two and two-thirds. The shepherd with three loaves ate two and two-thirds and gave the traveller one third. The shepherd with five loaves ate two and two-thirds and gave the traveller two and one third or seven thirds. The one who gave one third gets one piastre; the one who gave seven thirds gets seven piastres.
